DEVICE FOR MULTIPOLE PHASE DIVISION DEMULTIPLEXING/MULTIPLEXING AND SPATIAL DIVISION TELECOMMUNICATIONS SYSTEM THEREOF
The invention presents an innovative system for increasing the transmission capacity of the existing free-space and fiber optic communication network by encoding channels with the same frequency on a new variety of optical beams characterized by a multipole phase structure.

APPLICATIONS
Systems currently under development for space-division multiplexing are based on the transmission of beams carrying orbital angular momentum. Such beams have a central singularity that precludes their transmission over long distances in free space, they do not currently have an efficient generating system, and they provide a numerable set of channels with spatially 9 linear and constrained distribution. The method presented here overcomes all these limitations, and offers the possibility of spatially multiplexing nonsing bundles defined by 2 continuous parameters over a 2-dimensional space by means of an efficient and compact generation system analogous to demultiplexing.
