CONVERTER OF ORBITAL MOMENTUM INTO SPIN MOMENTUM FOR THE POLARIZATION OF PARTICLE BEAMS
The present invention relates to a method and a system for electron polarization able to generate a spin polarized output particle beam – at least partially polarized. In principle the system may produce polarized beams having high brightness and stability, allowing its adoption in practical application, such as electron microscopes. The proposed system works as efficient spin polarization filter and can be applied also to other types of particles than electrons, provided that they are provided with magnetic spin momentum (neutrons, atoms, ions, etc.). Moreover it does not require frequent cathode exchange.
